Rona is very lazy and she doesn’t like moving around that much. She has a husband, one day
she said to her husband that “go and get me a big fish for supper”. So he did and Rona said
“ don’t hurry, take your time because while you do that I’m going to sleep”. Rona went to the
beach with her mat and sat down watching her husband float away. She wanted a drink so
she grabbed her gourd, suddenly when she lifted her bottle there was nothing in her gourd.
But she was too lazy to walk all the way to the creek and she wanted her husband to get it for
her, but since her husband wasn’t there she had to go there by herself. While she was walking
she the moon followed her to the creek. But she didn’t make it to the creek because the moon
went behind a cloud and she couldn't see where she was going so then she broke her ankle
and hit her knee hard on the ground. She said to the moon that “ you cabbage head”, the moon
got really angry so he sucked her into the sky with his tongue and she couldn’t move or do
anything. By the time her husband got home he was worried because he couldn’t find her, but
when he looked up at the sky and he saw her in the moon holding a Ngaio tree and her gourd.
That night more and more people came and saw what happened and she was still as a tall tree.
